We all use models. But, epidemiologists write them down. A look at why prevailing attitudes change.

Introduction

This is a fun project for me. It’s allowing me to take pieces I learned from risk communication and perception, specifically cognitive maps, and combine them with what I learned from stochastic compartment modeling. I also had a professor, back in the day, say, “We all use models. Epidemiologists write them down”. And so here I am putting my intuition into a mathematical model to describe my experience with why prevailing attitudes change.

A good example of things changing… I remember when Taylor Swift first hit the scene. She was different and not everyone liked her music. Fast forward to today, she’s a hit across the board. Even I like her!!

So, how does my intuition process her rise to stardom? Take a look below.
